Celebration of 50 years of Folk Camps
We celebrated 50 years of Folk Camps with an August Bank Holiday Folk Camp at Fowlmere in Cambridgeshire. It was a full weekend, with a special party on the Sunday, with our very own fabulous Folk Camps Party Band.
We had a celebratory meal, a keynote speech from Marcus de Frettes, chair of Folk Camps, birthday cake, and then a ceilidh. During the day (which was typically rainy!) there were Folk Campers beavering away to decorate the hall. We had a “memories” room, full of photos from the last 50 years (and more), which triggered discussions, laughter and “do you remember…?” conversations.
