It is a democratic organisation: decisions about how the organisation is run are taken by elected members of Council and Governing Members. Governing Members are the heart of the organisation: each year we have about 500 adult campers of which about 230 are Governing Members.<\/p>\n<h2>Benefits of becoming a Governing Member<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Able to vote at general meetings, including voting to elect the <a href=\"https:\/\/folkcamps.co.uk\/stage1\/running-folk-camps\/\">Council of Management<\/a> which runs Folk Camps Society Ltd. (NB postal or online and proxy voting are available for those that cannot attend).<\/li>\n<li>Eligible to <a href=\"https:\/\/folkcamps.co.uk\/stage1\/council\/\">stand for Folk Camps Council<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Can apply for a <a href=\"https:\/\/folkcamps.co.uk\/stage1\/development-fund-grants\/\">Folk Camps Development Grant<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Your folk events may be publicised via Folk Camps&#8217; social media.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to Become a Governing Member<\/h2>\n<p>To become a Governing Member, and to have your say in how Folk Camps is run, then fill in the form below and pay the membership fee. It costs just \u00a32 per year (minimum 5 years).
