Jane Wheeler

I first camped ‘only’ in 2015 introduced via Richard Jones and his fantastic South East London Folk Orchestra (SELfolk) where I’d only recently started playing fiddle again after many years. Loxwood was my first camp and will always be special: I love the ‘start of the year’ feeling, and the bluebells on the edge of the site feed my soul. Also the Russian roulette of whether we’ll have frost or sun-burn inducing warmth….

It’s great to now be able to introduce my very young child to camping (although not when leading)-  what a privilege for him to be exposed to such talented musicians at such a young age.

I suffer from the perennial folk camp malady of ‘wanting to do it all’: music, dancing, workshops and mostly catching up with the amazing people I’ve met through FC- ideally with knitting/good cider alongside too.

Looking forward to seeing you again/meeting you soon.
