I have been teaching music in schools for over 20 years and am currently teaching violin to individuals, small groups and whole classes. I run a school folk band at one of the High schools I visit and try to arrange the music to suit the different abilities and instruments.
My passion for folk fiddle began with a love of Scottish Fiddle music and I have attended workshops with Chris Stout, Catriona Macdonald and Aiden O’Rourke. I have since expanded my interest to include repertoire from Scandinavia, Ireland, England and France.
I play regularly for celildhs and more recently I have played for European dances with Belinda Jones and Bruce Knapp.
I would like to share some of this experience with folk campers. I hope to introduce some new tunes working by ear and from music.
